Fall Wedding
Autumn is one of my favorite seasons besides summer. It’s when the weather starts to get a little cooler, the air a little crisper, and the colors of fall begin to happen. This is probably one of the many reasons why fall weddings are such a popular thing to do. You get all of the sublime Mother Nature effects like the leaves changing colors and you can dress accordingly so it’s probably no big surprise that thing like long sleeved dresses are trendy during those cooler months.
Color Trends
As the colors of the leaves change, so do the color trends. In the same way sparkly blues and crisp whites are popular for winter weddings, leaf-changing colors are popular colors for fall weddings. Think wine red paired with cool copper colors or deep red colors paired up with heather blue, deep yellows and heather grays. The result is not only a nice balance overall, but one that connects to the world outside. Copper is known for being very versatile as well. You can add in little accents of copper along the way and make a dynamic look like polished copper chargers, silverware or copper foil accents on white plates to really make your table amazing. Also, think outside the box with antique copper lanterns for a rustic vibe.
Table Accents
When it comes to fall weddings, leaves and trees outnumber the use of flowers for centerpieces and table settings. if you think it’s just all about fall leaf colors like auburn, yellow and burnt orange, think again, you can use other colors on the table that really have nothing to do with fall colors. Try using eucalyptus, different grasses or purple ferns to really make an impact on your table. Another big trend for fall weddings in 2015? Custom made planter boxes as centerpieces. Use long planters in wood, metal, copper or even ceramic materials. These go really well on a long farmers table for your reception.
Seasonal Food Colors
Seasonal fall colors like browns, reds, deep purples and yellows aren’t just for decorating or for accents, they can also be used when making your menu. You can use different food options like purple and red endive for a salad, orange slices, red, yellow and orange peppers and more to help tie in the fall colors we all love so much. Another thing to consider when it comes to your food is the time of the season. What do people love most when it comes to the weather getting a little cooler? Stay warm with a dish of baked warm figs and spicy honey or do something a little different with a dish of quince or fig jam drizzled on top of slices of cheese.
Cocktails
Sticking with the fall colors, another big trend for fall weddings in 2015 are Moscow mules. Not only Moscow mules but the Moscow mule copper mug - these are beautifully made copper mugs that you can put almost anything in including warm cider or classy cocktails. They look sort of like mason jars, but a little classier and rustic, and they have a handle. Speaking of cocktails, if you are looking for trendy cocktails for a fall wedding consider these options: The Libertine, Gin-Gin Mule, Prairie Gold, Lucky Luciano, The Snakebite, The Borderline Escape, Apricot Blossom and Crush and Swizzle. They all have those fall colors we love so much and they are delicious drinks!
Desserts to Love
Naked cakes are something you’ve probably been hearing a lot about these days, and for good reason. These cakes are incredibly popular as well as trendy. But, for fall cakes they are a little different than summer cakes. Summer naked cakes include things like fresh berries or strawberries on top or in the cake. For fall cakes you want to go with what is in season and the different items that are popular in fall. Think about warm pumpkin fillings, apple pie fillings, cranberry nut or maple syrup infused icing. All delicious sounding! Make sure you also use fall accents accordingly around the base of the cake or the stand like acorns, cranberries, squash or pumpkins.
