Summer Wedding
If you are looking for some summer wedding tips and trends for your summer wedding venue in NJ in 2015, you’ve come to the right place! Summer, unlike other months, is filled with bright colors, lots of yummy drinks and food that will keep the party going until the wee hours of the morning. Plus, you have got great weather, the ability to dress accordingly for warm weather and you have daylight that goes on and on for what seems like forever.
Dynamic Colors
As one would probably expect, summer weddings are filled with bright vibrant and dynamic colors. Bright hues are a beautiful addition to any summer wedding venue in NJ, just be sure to not add too many different colors or you could end up with a carnival look rather than a classy wedding look. If you are having a really hard time picking a few different colors that go well together, stick with two colors and go from there. It’s a good idea to pick two of the same hues and then use 2 accent colors to keep the space unified and uncluttered. If possible, and you are allowed to paint a room for the reception, use an accent wall for one main color and then move out from there adding in your two hues plus 2 accent colors on things like tablecloths, centerpieces, flowers and more.
Music
When most people think of the summer they think of late nights, bonfires, relaxation and taking it easy so it shouldn’t be a big surprise when I tell you that for music at weddings and receptions, laid back music is going to be a big trend in 2015. This doesn’t mean you can’t hire a DJ or a band to perform. It just means that during certain parts of your event, it’s alright to chill out and wind down. If you want to have a string trio during your cocktail hour, do it. But, think about dinner time or after dinner. People just want to relax, talk, drink and have fun. Consider adding an upbeat tempo like swing or something you really love like cheesy one hit wonders, the best 80 songs or something with a good beat. You do have a lot of options when it comes to music, so make sure you do your research on bands, pianists, strong quartets, DJs, etc. You could also ask the place you are having your summer wedding venue if they have a list of trusted and loyal musicians.
Themes
You’ll be hearing about a lot of themes in 2015. But, this isn’t anything new! Themes are a great way to tie everything in together, make it easier to organize and set up, and decide on things like what to wear, what colors to use, what music to use, and more. Themes come by the 100s though so the one you choose is going to depend on your personality and what you like. If you are having a summer wedding though, perhaps it would be a cool idea to pick a summer-type theme like a beach wedding, garden theme, tropical island theme or do something really unique like a Japanese theme, Vintage (think Great Gatsby) theme or an all-white theme - clothes, flowers and decor is white with little specks of accents throughout. The sky is really the limit when it comes to themes. Just remember to have some fun!
Wedding Cakes and Cupcakes
Wedding cakes that are white and elegant are always a popular option. But, what do you think of when you think of summer? I think of fresh fruit, pies, the sunsets and warm weather! In 2015, naked cakes and fresh fruit cakes are going to be super popular. Think of a naked cake with white whipped cream on the inside, fresh berries like strawberries and a shortcake style batter. Or maybe you want to do something lemony? Try a white chiffon cake, with citrus infused filling like lemon, orange or lime with a citrus butter cream icing. When serving cake, also consider doing other dessert options like cupcakes - which can be a lot of fun to design, cookies, pie, you could even do something really unique and rent an ice cream truck for the day, have slushy’s or a snow cone machine!
